Today, myself and Jordan spent the day with a fella called Pete. He introduced us to a few programs that Fujitsu use to test the products for any faults and to make sure that they are working correctly. Before they send out any products to a customer, they will have to validate the disc to make sure it isn’t just a bunch of irrelevant stuff and is actually the thing the customer wants. Pete shown us a program called 7561 Window, this and basically run any mainframe you need to.
We finally got out laptops!! Our own Fujitsu laptop! Once it was all up and running we had a go at installing the 7561 Window ourselves. Pete explained that customers they are trying to make it a lot more user friendly and have created a Internet based version, which does the exact same but visually looks better and is easier to use. To navigate around you use a bunch of commands and just hit enter or the tab button. It is fairly simple if you know the commands but there isn’t really anything that will give you hints or help you remember, so its recommended you make notes of everything so you don’t forget.
Every day here at Fujitsu is an interesting one, it is a really educational experience and I’m 100% positive I’ll learn something cool each day. I have had a really good first week and I hope the next two are just as good or even better!
